i’m a bit late but i wanted to mention this sad news. willem breuker died on july 23 this year. i was a big admirer of his sound especially the stuff he did with the ‘willem breuker kollektief’. you can check out their work on their webpage
i did a rework of their version of the grieg-piece ‘peer gynt’ back in 2002 as part of the recordings for the never released ‘original soundtrack about the hollow man 3′ album. the track is heavily based around samples of the willem breuker version and you can download the track for free here or go to the music-page and listen to it online.

just finished the mixes for a short information-movie for the ‘blutspendedienst’ of swiss red cross, called ‘blut’.
the animated movie was created by simon oberli and looks absolutely fantastic.
i did all the sound-effects (around 400 in an eight minutes movie…) and the background sound.
the movie will be released on dvd and will be sent out to schools and other institutions.

this was the first project i did completely ‘in the box’, so i didn’t use any external synths or other gear. the reason was, that i wanted the ‘cold’ sound of synth-plugins for this project. i only used the korg monotron for some sound effects i needed and couldn’t find in my sound-library.

just uploaded a new download-album. ‘live.09′ was recorded at palace st. gallen on 24-01-2009. the album features the whole live-set, all in all 16 live-tracks from the albums ‘mabuse’, ‘ep # one’ and ‘sunshine’. some of the tracks were performed live for the first time, so behave, it’s a free download-album. no overdubs as you may notice.

Wo es seit jeher um Abermillionen und ein Palace-GA geht.

Zum dritten Mal organisiert eine muntere Gruppe das grosse Palace-Quiz «Wo isch Züri?». Angetrieben, es besser zu machen als SF mit seinem dummdreisten “Al dente” (welches Gewürz gehört nicht in eine Bologna-Sauce?) geht es den Quizmastern von «Wo isch Züri» um eigentliche Volks- und Allgemeinbildung. Auf der interaktiven Fragewand stecken Themen wie «ubsALLAH» (Politik), «Schall & Rauch», «Streichelzoo» (Tierwelt und Fauna), Revolution (selbstredend), Super Lüg (Sport), Ostrandzone und natürlich «Wo isch Züri».

Alle Gäste, die ins Palace kommen, erhalten (Ab 20 Uhr) wie in den Vorjahren beim Eingang 1 Milliarde Franken. Diese gilt es möglichst gewinnbringend in Zürich zu versenken oder zu verstecken, um sich für die erste der drei Quizrunden zu qualifizieren. Wer im Laufe des Abends am meisten Milliarden sammelt oder von der Jury, bzw. der Wo-isch-Züri-Finma ins Final korrumpiert wird, hat die Chance, ein Jahres-Generalabonnement fürs Palace zu gewinnen. Es warten überdies für alle Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer grandiose Trostpreise, und die Show wird erstmals begleitet von einem gnadenlosen Kämpfer für den guten (Musik)-Geschmack: Silvan Lassauer und sein General Midi Orchestra.

Wer weiss, wo Zürich ist, trifft sich am Freitag abend im Palace in St. Gallen. Auch Steuerflüchtlinge sind herzlich willkommen!
